This year’s edition of DOK Neuland maps collapse across eight compelling works, revealing its many facets, fractures, and promises. Under the theme “Landslide”, the public exhibition, curated by Dana Melaver, explores a range of topics and narrative approaches, from man-made tensions with nature, to homes lost to climate change and violence, to departures from certainty and new beginnings. The exhibition (27 October - 1 November 2026) features three VR/MRexperiences, two 360° films, two mixed media installations, and a performance special event.

This year’s DOK Exchange XR, the Industry programme for interactive and immersive storytelling, takes place on 29–30 October, preceded by a special programme on 28 October, DOK Exchange XR Encounters, in collaboration with Kunstkraftwerk Leipzig. The programme again includes the XR conference, XR Showcase, and XR Prototyping Zone, focusing on shifting practices of archiving XR and immersive works.
Also new this year: as part of our close collaboration with CPH:DOX/LAB around immersive and interactive media, we are holding a DOK Exchange XR Think Tank, exploring current and emerging models for archiving XR, as well as a rising need for resilience in times of AI and rapid tech change

Tune in: A fresh podcast episode on archiving XR
In addition, we’ve just released a new DOK Industry Podcast episode discussing creative methodologies and challenges of working with archives in XR. Curated and hosted by Weronika Lewandowska (curator and coordinator of DOK Exchange XR), the episode is joined by Chloé Lee (“Inter(mediate) Spaces”) and Lucy Hammond (“Ôl ( Haunts)”), who take part in the discussion, tracing their projects’ journeys from pitching at the DOK Exchange XR Showcase to the international stage.
