DOK Leipzig
Community Agreement
DOK Leipzig’s programme and organisation are shaped by the festival’s core values: peace, human dignity, diversity and inclusiveness. With these values in mind, the festival takes a clear stand against any form of discrimination, racism, or physical or emotional violence.
Through the programme we curate and the discussions we facilitate, DOK Leipzig endeavours to contribute to an open dialogue and inspiring exchange about artistic expression and important issues of our time – a dialogue that will encourage people to embrace new perspectives.
We are dedicated to creating a respectful, harassment-free, welcoming and supportive environment where everyone feels safe – festival guests and audiences, attendees and partners, team members and volunteers. Therefore, we ask everyone who joins our community to contribute to a positive festival experience by committing to being:
- Respectful of people of every race, ethnicity, gender identity and expression, disability, sexual orientation, nationality, religion, age, physical appearance, body size, and socio-economic status, by refraining from demeaning, discriminatory, or harassing behaviour or speech. This includes cyber-harassment, online bullying or trolling, as well as harassing photography or recording.
- Conscious of private space and personal boundaries by avoiding stalking, sexual attention and unwelcome or inappropriate physical contact of any kind.
- Respectful of the festival organisation and all participants by refraining from sustained disruption of events.
By participating in DOK Leipzig – on-site and online – you agree to these community guidelines. In the event of violation, DOK Leipzig reserves the right to revoke and deny persons access to the festival programmes, platforms, and spaces with immediate effect.
If you feel unsafe at a festival event, if you have been harassed or witness another person being harassed or discriminated, or if you have any other concerns during your participation in DOK Leipzig, please approach the festival staff or the Awareness Team – trained anti-discrimination consultants who will be present at the festival. (Details about availability and ways to contact the Awareness Team will be announced in advance of the next edition.) We are there to support you, will listen from a position of belief, to understand and advise confidentially. Your immediate safety is our biggest concern.
