What could be more fitting for the kickstart of our DOK Day series in 2024 than celebrating cinema with a portrait of a club of film enthusiasts? On Sunday, 21 January, we’ll be showing “A Bunch of Amateurs”, an audience favourite from our 2022 festival, at Schaubühne Lindenfels.

It’s about members of the “Bradford Movie Makers”, a club that has met weekly since 1932 for both screenings and the creation of amateur films of all genres. But these days the film club faces extinction with dwindling membership, a crumbling club house, and tight budgets. Will they be saved? See for yourself!

We’ll screen the documentary film in its original English version with English subtitles.
